Many animal services businesses will tell you pet services aren’t all roses. But this small business owner lives for pet pampering.

According to Ronni Wolverton of Diva Dogg Grooming, she started in the pet grooming industry 17 years ago. And the rest is history. Having never professionally bathed dogs, Ronni got her start as a novice dog washer and worked her way up the four-legged ladder from there.

Now 17 years later, she runs her own grooming business.

Diva Dogg Grooming is a grooming and pet business located in Providence, Rhode Island. Though dogs make up the majority of their pet clients, they welcome cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and more through their storefront’s doors.

In “Winning on Main Street” Episode 9 – Diva Dogg Grooming, we sat down with Ronni to hear all about her journey from dog washer to business owner.

A Sneak Peek

With a skilled team of groomers and bathers, and more than 300 clients, Diva Dogg Grooming serves anywhere from 7 to 10 pets a day.

Here’s the kicker. Ronni doesn’t run the show alone. Her mother is the techie who fuels their growth and success using the latest technology.

“I would go around and write my number down for people…I never was this big into technology.”

At first, they thought using software to manage everything sounded…im-paws-ible. But Ronni says the transition to using technology to manage her business was easy.

Now, her mother even shows her how to update their business website!
