Technorati validation token
Technorati is a blog aggregation site

Technorati is a blog aggregator, or blog search engine, that can be a great source of traffic for your blog. In order to confirm that you are the owner of the blog, Technorati will give you a token (random alphanumeric string, like 3UJRSSBP25PJ) that you must publish to your blog so that it will show up in your RSS feed. You may wonder how to do that. It is a simple process.

Write a blog post that includes your token and publish it. Do not confirm it until you see the post with the token appear in your RSS feed. In order to confirm that the post has appeared in the feed, check the RSS URL for your blogging platform. A few of the common links appear below.

  • WordPress – http://blogname.wordpress.com/feed
  • blogger – http://blogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
  • blog.com – http://yourdomain.blog.com/feed
  • typepad – http://feeds.feedburner.com/blog-name (rss feeds are set up via feedburner)
  • tumblr – http://blogname.tumblr.com/rss
  • weebly – http://blogname.weebly.com/1/feed
  • livejournal – http://exampleusername.livejournal.com/data/rss

Depending on which blogging platform you use, you may have to wait some time before the post actually appears in your RSS feed. You may want to check in the help section or community support to see if there is a way to refresh the feed more quickly. Once the post appears in your feed, you can complete the validation process with Technorati. In order to do this, log in to your Technorati account and click on the check claim link for your blog. Then, click on the verify claim token link.

You should then receive confirmation that validation was successful with the following message: “We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.”

After the Technorati RSS token validation process is complete, the Technorati staff will perform a manual review on your site, to make sure that it isn’t a spam site or something shady. Once the final review is complete and you see your post appear on Technorati, you can remove the post from your blog.
