According to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), April 30 – May 6, 2017 is National Small Business Week (#SmallBusinessWeek if you’re thinking ahead). This yearly event recognizes businesses like yours, and gutsy entrepreneurs like you, for your contributions to your local community, your local economy and local jobs.

Fun fact: More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business. And another one for the road: You create about 2 out of every 3 new jobs in the U.S. each year.

Get involved in National Small Business Week!

Why get involved? Hopefully it feels good to be recognized. But aside from stroking our egos, this is a great way to hear success stories and get inspiration and ideas from other local businesses SBA will recognize and spotlight throughout the week.

  1. Visit https://www.sba.gov/nsbw/, and educate yourself about the program.
  2. Watch events live online, and learn from leaders like you around the country. SBA lists links by daily event on their website. Webinar information is also listed here.
  3.  Join the conversation by using the hashtag #SmallBusinessWeek on Twitter.
