By the end of 2019, 80% of all internet traffic will be directed to video content.

Videos are highly engaging, and they work well for consumers with limited attention spans. Unfortunately, for many small business owners, video content seems out of reach. It seems expensive, not to mention time-consuming, to produce and incorporate into your marketing plan.

Don’t let videos intimidate you. We’re here to help with a crash course in video production for small business use.

Here’s how your business can start creating videos faster and more easily to enhance your marketing.

Grab your smartphone.

One of the top hurdles with video marketing is the fear of expensive video cameras and complicated technology.

But your smartphone is more than up for the job, especially if it’s got 12 or more megapixels.

Speak your audience’s language.

Figure out what you want to say in your video. No one video should be aimed at accomplishing everything.

Make sure each video’s message is:

  • Short and sweet
  • Focuses on a customer pain point
  • Includes how you can help

Then, end every video with how someone can get in touch. We call this a “call to action.”

Set the scene.

Decide where you want to film, and do a test run. Pay attention to:

  • Lighting, if it’s too dark or bright
  • Sound, if there’s distracting background noise

Pro tip: If you suffer from shaky hands, buy a table top tripod online. For a few bucks, it’ll really improve your production quality!
